Reports: PAK-WI ODIs to be called off owing to multiple COVID-19 cases in visiting camp

West Indies team is currently in Pakistan for their white-ball assignments where the hosts have won the T20I series by winning the initial two games. The final T20I is currently on and it will be a thing to see if the Babar Azam-led side finishes it off with a whitewash. However, during the course, a lot of COVID-19 cases in the squad of visiting camp created a stir and with this, the ODI series has come under all the dark clouds.

As per the latest reports, Pakistan vs West Indies three-match ODI series is unlikely to go ahead as the visiting nation is not willing to move into the series with their depleted squad. Also, with Christmas and festive season coming up, the guest’s side doesn’t want to put their more and more players into isolation

The final T20I between West Indies and Pakistan is on

Talking of the T20I series so far, Pakistan clinched the series by winning the second T20I game where Shaheen Shah Afridi turned out to be the star bowler while on song Mohammad Rizwan continued his golden run. The third T20I is currently on and the visiting nation would be keen on saving their pride.

“I think the finish was great in our batting innings. 170-180 was a good score and the bowlers did well, including the pacers and spinners, so it was a good team effort. We should defend the target well, according to the conditions, and we planned really well. Whether we bat or bowl, we made an effort, and that’s in our hands. The group is developing very well, including Wasim, and how these youngsters are evolving. They’ll only get better with time. We’ll try to go into the next game with a different combination and give everyone a chance,” said Babar Azam after winning the T20I series.
