Reports: Jos Buttler, Mitchell Marsh to miss their next IPL match
Last year’s runners-up Rajasthan Royals will face the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday, April 8 and two players from both teams are expected to miss the clash.
Buttler is expected to miss Rajasthan’s next encounter against the David Warner-led team. During Rajasthan’s previous match, the Englishman injured the little finger of his left hand in an attempt to take a catch.
According to the most recent report, RR are awaiting the medical staff’s report before deciding whether or not the batter will play in the upcoming game.
Meanwhile, DC have also suffered a major setback as their star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is likely to miss the IPL 2023 for a week as he is returning home for his wedding.
Both Rajasthan and Delhi are coming off after a loss in their previous matches. On April 5, Samson and Co. faced a five-run defeat against PBKS in a nail-biting encounter in Guwahati. Delhi, on the other hand, lost to reigning champions Gujarat Titans (GT) by six wickets at their home in Delhi on April 4.
RR won the toss and chose to field first in the match against PBKS. PBKS skipper Shikhar Dhawan starred with the willow in hand and gave a 198-run target to Rajasthan. The PBKS bowlers looked decent. Nathan Ellis took four wickets.
Against Gujarat, Delhi batted first and scored 162 for eight. However, GT’s Sai Sudharsan came in and smashed a brilliant half-century and led GT to a six-wicket victory over Delhi. Marsh took one significant wicket against GT, dismissing their Impact Player Vijay Shankar.
Mitchell Marsh will be a big miss for Delhi as the star Aussie all-rounder was in fine form while playing for Australia in the recently culminated three-match ODI series against India. His form with the bat was crucial for the Steve Smith-led side as they clinched the series 2-1.
