Reports: Jadeja not in touch with Chennai since IPL 2022, plans to change team
India’s star all-rounder and a Chennai Super Kings regular player for years, Ravindra Jadeja is reportedly said to have parted ways with the four-time champions. Jadeja is reportedly looking for deals from other franchises and planning to list his name under the trade window, according to rumors that have been circulating for some time, but there has not been an official confirmation on the same, but it is expected soon.
Unless a miracle occurs within the next few months, Ravindra Jadeja’s time with Chennai Super Kings may be approaching its end. Since the conclusion of the IPL in May 2022, the all-rounder is rumored to have ended all contacts with the CSK management. Jadeja, who underwent rehabilitation at NCA before rejoining the Indian team, has totally kept the Chennai-based franchise in the dark and has not participated in any CSK activities.
After being given the reins of leadership, Jadeja didn’t appear to be the same player and had trouble with both bat and the ball. He even committed fielding errors and appeared to be under pressure. As a result, CSK lost six of the eight games in which he served as captain. Because of the team’s poor performance, Jadeja relinquished captaincy and CSK decided to reinstate MS Dhoni as captain, who had decided to step down from the role prior to the start of the season.
Soon after, Jadeja’s rib injury forced him to withdraw from the competition. As a result, there were rumors that he had a fallout with the franchise. Jadeja has notably deleted all of his Instagram posts related to the franchise from the past two years. Additionally, he was absent from the video that the franchise released in honor of MS Dhoni’s birthday.
Ravindra Jadeja’s actions in the recent past have made the situation even intense
It is highly unlikely that the ace all-rounder would be prepared to return given that Dhoni has already stated that he will play in the upcoming IPL and will likely captain the team. However, a formal trading proposal from another franchise will be the first convincing evidence that Jadeja desires an “out.”
At that juncture, Jadeja would have to meet with the CSK officials, and the senior management might make one last attempt to appease him and keep him on the team. Jadeja joined CSK in the year 2012 and has been with the side ever since. He played for the Gujarat Lions when CSK were banned for two years but has seen success twice under CSK while being a part of the winning camp in 2018 and 2021.
