RCB vs DC Review – Bangalore take advantage of winless Delhi
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) earned their second win after emerging victorious against Delhi Capitals by 23 runs. The two teams squared off at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, April 15. David Warner’s Delhi Capitals won the toss and decided to field first. Skipper Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli sped off swiftly and got the big runs from the very beginning of the contest. The two added 42 runs before the skipper headed back to the dugout for 22 runs.
Kohli then took the onus of getting the vital runs and hammered a half-century off 33 balls. However, he was holed out in the next ball by Lalit Yadav after a catch by Yash Dhull. Soon after, Delhi gained some control of the innings as they got wickets at regular intervals to keep RCB reeling in the innings. However, RCB got back on track after Shahbaz Ahmed and Anuj Rawat got a few boundaries, returning scores of 20* and 15* runs respectively to help RCB get to 174 runs in 20 overs.
During the chase, the RCB bowling unit got to their lethal best as they struck the early blows to keep DC behind. Vijaykumar Vyshak got three wickets to his name whereas Mohammed Siraj got two to his name. Down the order, Manish Pandey tried to put up a fight, however, with the required rate shooting up, DC eventually lost the contest. Manish concluded with 50 runs off 38 balls during the chase. RCB registered their second win by 23 runs against DC.
