Ravindra Jadeja pens heartfelt note after successful knee surgery
Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the Asia Cup 2022 with a knee injury. The 33-year-old has had issues with his knee in the past and there has been speculations of him missing out for the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. However, recently head coach Rahul Dravid ruled out those thoughts and felt Jadeja has chances of returning in time.
“Jadeja has injured his knee; he is obviously ruled out of the Asia Cup. He is under the care of the medical team, he is going to see the doctors, see the experts. The World Cup is still a fair bit away, and we don’t want to jump to any conclusions and rule him out or rule him in. We’ll see how it goes,” Dravid told in the press conference.
Jadeja’s absence proved to be a big loss for India in the previous game against Pakistan and changing the combinations did not help the cause. Also, the left-hander has been in the form of his life with the bat and played a crucial 35-run knock in the group stages fixture against Pakistan. He also is a terrific fielder and can save a lot of runs in the field and his absence has affected the balance a lot.
Meanwhile, he recently posted an image on Instagram after undergone successful surgery and thanked various members for it. “The surgery was successful. There are many people to thank for their support and involvement – BCCI, my teammates, support staff, physios, doctors and the fans. I will start my rehab soon and try to get back to cricket soon as I can. Thank you to everyone for your kind wishes,” Jadeja captioned the post.
Meanwhile, India are set to announce the squad for the T20 World Cup 2022 within the September 15 deadline and it will be interesting to see if Jadeja gets the nod.
