Ravindra Jadeja and his wife help 5 underprivileged families on daughter’s birthday
Ravindra Jadeja is currently in England, gearing up for the World Test Championship final against New Zealand to start on June 18 at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. Amidst his cricketing assignments, he also celebrated his daughter Nidhyana’s fourth birthday.
To make the occasion memorable, he, along with his wife Rivaba, lent his helping hand to the needy. The couple helped five families from the economically weaker sections, opening their bank accounts. Rivaba, who stays in Jamnagar, opened the accounts for the underprivileged families.
Both of them also deposited INR 10,000 each in the savings accounts. From England itself, Rivaba joined the passbook-handling event through a video conference, Republic World reported. If reports are to be believed, the duo has also pledged to support 10,000 daughters of economically weaker sections.
As far as Jadeja’s cricketing assignment is concerned, he’s a part of India’s 20-member squad for the England tour. Jadeja wasn’t a part of the four-match Test series against England at home as he was recovering from an injury. He last played a Test match on the tour of Australia earlier this year. In the WTC, Jadeja has scored 469 runs in 10 matches with a top score of 91.
With the ball in hand, he has picked up 28 wickets to show for his efforts. On English soil, Jadeja has notched 276 runs and gotten 15 wickets from five Tests.
