Rashid Khan heaps praise on Hardik Pandya’s captaincy
Gujarat Titans (GT) spinner Rashid Khan has hailed his skipper Hardik Pandya for the way he has handled captaincy so far in IPL 2022. Pandya has taken the responsibility with both bat and ball ever since he has been handed over the captaincy role for the Gujarat franchise. The captaincy has brought the best out of him. The all-rounder is second in the race for the Orange Cap with 228 runs in five games and has also picked up four wickets.
He effected a run out to dismiss his counterpart, Sanju Samson, in their previous fixture against Rajasthan Royals, apart from scoring an unbeaten 87 with the bat. Despite being one of the ordinary sides on paper, Hardik has managed his troops quite efficiently and the results are there for everyone to see. They are placed on top of the points table with eight points in five games. It has to be noted that Hardik hadn’t led any team since his early cricketing years, until this IPL season, and he has been quite impressive already.
He is someone who is very clear in mind on what he is going to do: Rashid Khan
Rashid Khan mentioned that the team environment has been amazing under Hardik’s leadership and lauded him for his braveness and confidence levels while making decisions. He added that Hardik has been spot on with his decisions so far and noted that the 28-year-old has been stepping up in all three departments.
“The way he (Hardik) has led the team, the way he has kept the team environment, inside and outside the field has been amazing so far. He (Hardik) is someone who always takes that brave decision, always has confidence and he is someone who is very clear in mind on what he is going to do,” Rashid told at the post-match conference.
“This is an important thing as a captain when your mind is clear, and you take right decisions, the result will take (care) by itself. You take right decisions with confidence, that is something which makes him the best and he has been delivering the best so far and leading from the front – (be it) batting, bowling and fielding,” he added.
