PCB unveils Pakistan’s new ODI jersey for New Zealand series
Pakistan will play a limited-overs series against New Zealand, which will begin on Friday (17 September). The series comprises three ODIs and five T20Is. The three ODIs won’t be part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League standings owing to the non-availability of the Decision Review System (DRS). Speaking about the squads, New Zealand will be without a few of their key players owing to the second half of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) starting on September 19 in the UAE.
Meanwhile, Pakistan have all of their top players playing for them. Led by Babar Azam, the side has a mix of youth and experienced players in the playing XI. Ahead of the first ODI, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) launched the new ODI Kit. In the picture posted on their official Twitter account, Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, Hasan Ali, and Shaheen Shah Afridi can be seen sporting the new jerseys.
Pakistan’s age-old policy of having green as the primary color is visible in new jersey too. But apart from that, there is a minor tweak as above the lighter green shade, a darker one is prominently visible and below it, there are two lines one green and another white one. The jersey looks refreshing and lighter to the eyes.

No DRS in place for the ODI series versus New Zealand
Earlier, it was announced that the PCB could not make possible arrangements for DRS technology in such a short span of time. Only the ICC-approved ones are allowed to be used in any bilateral series or global events. The PCB officials made all possible efforts to get one in place but could not do so before the start of white-ball games.
Both PCB and NZC agreed mutually to play the series without DRS. The series is historic in the sense for New Zealand as they will play in Pakistan after a gap of 18 long years. Although the Blackcaps lack few star players in the team nonetheless, it gives a chance for few young players to step up and be counted. Both Pakistan and New Zealand will use these eight white-ball games as an ideal preparation time for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
