Pat Cummins confident most of Australia’s top players will travel to Pakistan this year
Australian Test skipper Pat Cummins has assured that many members of the Test squad will travel to Pakistan for the three-match Test series against Babar Azam’s men that will begin in March this year.
Cummins said that even though a little bit of work is left to be done regarding the kangaroos’ travel to Pakistan, the right arm pacer added that things are indeed looking positive.
Cummins also lauded the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the amount of work that they have put in to make sure that the series happens. Adding that things are shaping up well, the kangaroos’ skipper stated that there are positive signs ahead for Australia.
“Still a bit to work through … but at this stage it’s all looking really positive. The amount of work the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) has put into it is fantastic. It’s shaping up as, I think just about everyone – if not all – will go,” said Pat Cummins as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
A bit more information is needed to get around to everyone: Pat Cummins
Pat Cummins also added that if some Australian players need to make some ‘choices’ regarding this matter, then Australia would be fine without their services. Cummins concluded by stating that he needs some more information to gather everyone around and tour Pakistan.
“If some players need to make a choice, it’s absolutely fine that they won’t be there. Still got a bit of water to go under the bridge, a bit more info to gather and get around to everyone,” concluded Pat Cummins.
Pat Cummins and the Australian cricket team are currently involved in the Ashes series against England and are leading 3-0. The Aussies have completely outplayed their opposition in the Ashes series, and have already retained the urn. The 5th and final Test match of the series will begin on 14th January 2022 and is scheduled to take place at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart. It will be a day-night affair and will be played under lights. The previous Test match between the two teams ended in a draw.
