Pakistan allows crowd up to 100% capacity for West Indies series

WI vs PAK

The National Command and Control Center (NCOC) has allowed spectators to the full capacity of Karachi’s National Stadium for the upcoming West Indies series.

This is the first time since the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic that spectators will be allowed to this extent, as the NCOC had previously capped the attendance up to 25% capacity for the home series against New Zealand, which could not get underway after the visitors left owing to security threats.

Meanwhile, West Indies, who will arrive in Karachi on December 9, are set to play six white-ball games, starting with the first T20I on December 13. The three T20Is will be followed by as many ODIs between December 18 to 22, which will all be a part of the ICC ODI World Cup Super League, which ensures a direct qualification for the top seven teams plus hosts (India) for the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Each team earns ten points for a win, five for a tie/no result/abandonment, and none for a loss. The ranking will be determined according to the total points earned by all the teams across all the series each team will play. Currently, West Indies occupy the eighth spot in 13 teams, with four wins and five losses. Pakistan are only a spot above them with identical wins and losses.
