Oman’s Khawar Ali becomes 10th player to bag hat-trick in T20I cricket
Oman’s leg-spinner Khawar Ali made his way to the record books after he picked up a hat-trick against the Netherlands on Wednesday. Playing in the Oman Pentangular T20I series, Ali became the 10th player to achieve this feat in T20 international cricket.
The 33-year-old dismissed Dutch batsmen Antonius Staal, Colin Ackermann and Roelof van der Merve in the first three balls of the 10th over. Ali then scalped another wicket before finishing with impressive figures of 4/16 in his 3.3 overs. Oman capitalised on Ali’s splendid bowling spell and restricted the Netherlands to a meagre 94 in 15.3 overs. Their batsmen then chased it down without breaking a sweat as Ali chipped in with a quick 20 at the top.
