Nick Compton admits India showed attitude and perseverance to win the 4th Test against England
The Virat Kohli-led Indian side produced a sensational performance in the 4th Test match and thrashed Joe Root and his men by a margin of 157 runs to secure a 2-1 lead in the series.
It was a complete team effort by the Indian side, as England ran out of answers to the questions posed by the visitors. Rohit Sharma was the catalyst of the Indian side with the willow and led India’s fightback in the second innings by scoring a marvelous 127 at the top of the order, helping India set a target of 368 for the hosts.
Then, it was an excellent combined bowling effort by the Indian side in the second innings that flummoxed the England side. While Umesh Yadav scalped 3 wickets, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Shardul Thakur picked up 2 wickets each, as England were bowled out for 210 and India secured a 2-1 lead.

India has now taken an unassailable 2-1 lead in the five-match series, and England will have to compulsorily win the 5th and final Test match that will take place at Manchester if they do not want to lose the series. The 5th Test match will commence on 10th September 2021. This Test series is the first assignment for both England and India in the second cycle of the World Test Championship (WTC).
