Yashasvi Jaiswal available for Mumbai’s clash against Jammu & Kashmir
India’s young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has confirmed his availability for Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy clash against Jammu & Kashmir, set to begin on January 23 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. Mumbai is currently ranked third in the Elite A group with 22 points from five matches.
The 23-year-old’s decision to participate not only boosts Mumbai’s team but also his preparation for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. Jaiswal was the second-highest-run scorer in India’s recent tour of Australia, with 391 runs in five Tests, including a century and two half-centuries.
Despite India’s 3-1 series loss, the left-hander’s contributions have been widely acknowledged by experts and fans alike. Meanwhile, as per an Indian Express report, the southpaw has made himself available for Mumbai’s fixture against Jammu & Kashmir.
“He has informed Mumbai coach Omkar Salvi that he is available for the next round of the Ranji Trophy. The selection committee will pick the Mumbai team in the coming days,” an MCA official was quoted as saying by Indian Express.
The youngster has so far managed 833 runs in nine Ranji Trophy matches at an average of 59.50, including four centuries and two fifties.
