Suryakumar Yadav visits Yankee Stadium and gets presented with a special jersey
India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav paid a visit to the historic Yankee Stadium in the Bronx in New York City on Saturday, August 10, where he was presented a Yankees pinstripe jersey, with his name and the number he dons on his t-shirt – No. 63.
The flamboyant batter was mesmerised upon entering the iconic venue. Suryakumar was honored by Major League Baseball’s New York Yankees. He took a look around the stadium during his visit, which further highlights his growing popularity on the international arena and the cross-sport comradery between cricket and baseball.
Indian cricket fans will have fond memories of New York as the Men in Blue played three games at the city’s Nassau County International Cricket Stadium during their triumphant T20 World Cup 2024 campaign. Apart from wins against Ireland and the USA, Rohit Sharma and Co. got the better of arch-rivals Pakistan at the temporary cricket stadium.
