SA vs IND: 2nd T20I Preview – India, South Africa match ready after a washout
After the first T20I between South Africa and India got washed out in Durban, the two teams will lock horns in the second T20I on Tuesday, December 12 at St George’s Park, Gqeberha. Both teams will look to start strong in the series as a loss in the second game will bring them under immense pressure to save the series in the third T20Is.
India are coming into the tour having defeated Australia by 4-1 recently in the five-match series. Captain Suryakumar Yadav has been once again entrusted to leading a young side against a top team.
On the other hand, South Africa last played a T20I series against Australia at home in August-September 2023. They lost the series by 3-0. Hence, the Aiden Markram-led side will look to bounce back strong against India who have an upper hand over them in T20Is on their soil.
Notably, in the four bilateral series played in South Africa between India and the Proteas, the Men in Blue have emerged victorious on three occasions. Furthermore, India have won five out of the seven T20I matches played between the two sides in South Africa. Hence, the young India squad will be eager to continue their stellar record. While, South Africa will hope to improve their record against the visitors on their home soil.
