Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are both greats of the game: Cameron Green
Cameron Green and Virat Kohli were all over the place when it came to running between the wickets in the recent game against Kolkata Knight Riders. Kohli, itching to run towards the non-striker’s end and Green denying it, things went vice-versa for the batters in Bengaluru on Friday. But Green comes with his share of experience. Experience of having won the World Cup title representing Australia. It was evident when despite the lack of camaraderie, he stitched 65 runs partnership with Kohli.
Moreover, the Australia all-rounder has shared the dressing room with another Indian stalwart. He played under Rohit Sharma when featured for the Mumbai Indians before being traded to Royal Challengers Bengaluru ahead of Indian Premier League 2024. The right-handed batter has shed light upon playing under two batting maestros and drew similarities between the star Indian players.
“Obviously both are greats of the game. Every time I think about it, I think I am lucky enough to play with two of the greats of cricket not just Indian cricket. What makes them great is that they are both similar. They are equally happy to help the team. They will give their time and share their experiences in what has worked and what has not. I am happy to share the dressing room with them”, Green said in an Royal Challengers Bengaluru press conference.
Green gives it all for the sport despite obstacles in personal life
Green’s success as a cricketer comes with its share of vulnerabilities and struggles. He was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease at an early age, and the doctors had estimated the cricketer’s shelf life to be 12 years. Despite the setback, the 24-year-old has gone on to play the most physically demanding sports and has excelled in his terms. He even visited the Bangalore Kidney Foundation and raised awareness about the issue.
