Players such as Shaheen Afridi, Abdullah Shafique, Zaman Khan and Usama Mir are down with high fever.
Afridi was reportedly struck by a viral bacterial infection and the fast bowler immediately sought medical attention which included receiving antibiotic drips to help in his recovery. On the other hand, Shafique also succumbed to a severe high fever and is currently under the supervision of doctors.
As per a report in Samaa Tv, Zaman Khan also joined the list of the affected players along with Usama Mir who has been grappling with the condition for five days and has been put in quarantine as a precautionary measure. However, all of Mir’s medical tests yielded negative results. Pakistan’s media manager has also revealed that cricketers are showing signs of improvement and are on the path to recovery.
Meanwhile, the Babar Azam-led side will be desperate for a win in the upcoming fixture having been beaten by arch-rivals India in their previous fixture. After being put in to bat first, Pakistan were going well in the all-important clash as they were 155/2 after 29.3 overs.
