New Zealand announces squad for Test series against India

New Zealand has announced their squad for the upcoming three-Test series against India in October 2024. Tom Latham will lead the team after Tim Southee stepped down from the captaincy. Kane Williamson, who is recovering from a groin injury, is doubtful for the first Test but could return later in the series. To cover for him, uncapped batter Mark Chapman has been included in the squad. Michael Bracewell will be available only for the first Test as he will return home for the birth of his second child, with Ish Sodhi replacing him for the second and third Tests.

The series is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle, with matches scheduled in Bengaluru, Pune, and Mumbai. The squad also features key players like Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell, and Ajaz Patel, known for their past success in India. New Zealand will face India on October 16 at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium for the first Test.
