Mumbai Indians: IPL 2025 Preview

Where they finished last season

The joint-most successful franchise ended up at the bottom of the points table with four wins out of 14 games in IPL 2024.

What’s new in 2025

Trent Boult was brought back at the mega auction in November last year. Mitchell Santner, another prominent Kiwi, was also added to the unit. The ace all-rounder recently led New Zealand to a Tri-Nation Series win and a runners-up place in the Champions Trophy 2025.

Watch out for

Rohit Sharma’s likely opening partner, Ryan Rickelton, is a player who could be a vital asset to the side. The SA20 has witnessed the blazing starts he provided on numerous occasions. Deepak Chahar was far from his best previous season. With Jasprit Bumrah reported to miss a few of MI’s initial games, the stage is set for the right arm to light up the Wankhede with some dazzling powerplay performances.
