MS Dhoni optimistic of India’s World Cup chances
Former India captain MS Dhoni is optimistic about India’s chance at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, which is in full swing. Notably, India has made an impressive start, triumphing in all five of their matches with victories over Australia, Pakistan, and New Zealand, all touted as tournament favorites, as well as Afghanistan and Netherlands.
During a recent public appearance, the ever-composed Dhoni was queried about India’s World Cup prospects. In his trademark cool and collected manner, Dhoni affirmed that the current squad appears exceptionally strong and well-rounded. He expressed confidence that the team is poised to leave an indelible impression at the World Cup 2023.
“Understand the feeling. It’s a very good team. There’s a good balance in the team. Every player is doing well. everything is looking very good. So, I won’t say much about it now, rest, the one who’s wise will grasp the hint provided,” he said.

When asked about his commitment to the Indian team, especially in his formative years, the Ranchi born revealed the driving forces that ignited and sustained his unwavering passion for the game.
“Growing up we really didn’t have much videos to watch. So, when we watched Sachin’s batting, we would think that we can bat like him only to feel otherwise. He [Sachin] was motivation growing up. But, when I started playing for India, the country was the biggest motivation. Though we lost quite a few matches, but, the motive was to always do well for the country,” he concluded.
