What an eventful first day at the IPL 2025 mega auction! A total of 72 players found their IPL teams, with the remaining slots set to be filled during tomorrow’s accelerated round. Here are the key highlights:

Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer were the headline acquisitions, fetching record bids of ₹27.00 Cr and ₹26.75 Cr, respectively. RCB left with the most purse (₹30.65 Cr) and retained all their RTMs, while MI made minimal purchases, signing only four players, with Trent Boult being the sole overseas recruit. CSK strengthened their spin department by bringing back R. Ashwin and Noor Ahmad.

Punjab Kings, with the largest purse, splurged on Iyer, Chahal, Arshdeep, Maxwell, and others. KKR made a big splash with Venkatesh Iyer’s ₹23.75 Cr bid.
