IPL 2025 Auction: Delhi Capitals squad analysis
Delhi Capitals had INR 73 crore left in the purse after retaining Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs, and Abhishek Porel ahead of the IPL 2025 mega-auction. They released Rishabh Pant after failing to agree on terms and that created buzz.
In his absence, Delhi signed KL Rahul for INR 14 crore. The franchise also made some terrific signings in the form of Harry Brook, Mitchell Starc, Jake Fraser-McGurk, T Natarajan, Ashutosh Sharma, Faf du Plessis, Mukesh Kumar, and Karun Nair among others. They have the quality to challenge for the title but it will be interesting how Delhi fare in the season under a new coaching staff, led by Hemang Badani.
Rahul and Fraser-McGurk are a good opening pair and players such as Brook, Porel and Ashutosh can be effective in the middle. The bowling unit looks terrific as Natarajan and Starc can be a deadly combination. The lack of Backups can be one area that can give the team management some headache but overall, Delhi will be happy with the team they have assembled.
