IPL 2025 Auction: 3 players PBKS might target

Punjab Kings retained only two players ahead of the mega-auction. They have a massive INR 110.50 crore available to spend in the auction and can target whichever player they want. However, with Ricky Ponting at the helm of things, Punjab is expected to spend the money wisely and not throw it on undeserving players. As they are rebuilding a team, they need players in every department. Meanwhile, here are three players that the franchise can target in the upcoming mega-auction.

3. Harpreet Brar

Spinner Harpreet Brar did a good job for Punjab Kings in the last few years. The 29-year-old has been economical and is someone who can bowl in the powerplay and contribute with the bat as well if required. Harpreet is expected to fetch a decent amount in the mega-auction and it won’t be surprising if PBKS pulls off the RTM card.

2. Marco Jansen

South Africa all-rounder Marco Jansen is expected to fetch plenty of bids in the mega-auction. He is in tremendous form as well, having smashed a half-century against India in the third T20I in Centurion. The youngster has done a good job in the limited matches he played in the cash-rich league and PBKS could be interested in him.

1. Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant is touted to be the most expensive player after the IPL 2025 mega-auction. The India international left Delhi Capitals ahead of the next edition and as per reports, many franchises are eyeing to get him on board. Punjab are looking for a captain and Pant also shares an excellent relationship with Ponting, which might play a part in him moving to Punjab ahead of the next season.
