IPL 2025 Auction: 3 most expensive uncapped buys
A total of 577 players registered for Indian Premier League 2025 auctions. Out of those, 331 were uncapped players. Most importantly, a whopping 318 were uncapped Indian players. Subsequently, teams who are with less purse amount usually wait to lay bait to get hold of these budding talents. And some of the players who impressed in the IPL 2024 season were provided their due.
Here are the most expensive uncapped buys of the IPL 2025 auction:
3. 4.2 crore – Ashutosh Sharma (DC) and Abdul Samad (LSG)
Ashutosh Sharma surprised everyone with his clean striking of the ball for the Punjab Kings. But the team released him and he was procured by Delhi Capitals for INR 4.2 crore. On the other hand, Abdul Samad is known to have taken Sunrisers Hyderabad over the line by hitting a six on the last ball and he has joined Lucknow Super Giants.
2. 5.25 crore – Naman Dhir (MI)
Naman Dhir will make a good middle-order batter for any team. He is just coming off a good stint in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The all-rounder was released by Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2025 mega auctions. Even with a slim purse, MI managed to get hold of the 24-year-old and shed INR 5.25 crore to do so.
1. 6 crore – Rasikh Salam (RCB)
Rasikh Dar Salam played for Delhi Capitals last year as the impact player but was later included as the premier bowler. His ability to constraint the run rate was lauded by DC’s coaching staff. The pacer proved his mettle by picking nine wickets in eight games at an average of 29.89. He was released by DC ahead of auction and Royal Challengers Bengaluru were quick to pounce with INR 6 crore to bag his services.
