IPL 2025 Auction: 3 all-rounders who might spark a bidding war

All-rounders are the most important commodity in T20 cricket. However, with the impact player rule, their demand has decreased significantly but some players can’t be ignored and franchises will target them as they are match-winners on a given day. In the last mega-auction, many of the all-rounders made plenty of money and the trend is expected to continue.

The likes of Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Axar Patel, and Shivam Dube have been retained ahead of the mega-auction and other quality players are expected to fetch plenty of money. Who are these players? Let’s dissect:

3. Marco Jansen

Marco Jassen is expected to bag a massive deal in the upcoming IPL auction. The South Africa all-rounder is a lethal option as he can smack well in the death overs and can pick wickets with the new ball. Recently, in the series against India, the 24-year-old played a phenomenal cameo of 54 runs off 17 deliveries and multiple franchises will be lining up to get him on board as there’s always a demand for pace-bowling all-rounders, particularly if one can clock over 140 kmph.

2. Krunal Pandya

Krunal Pandya is expected to fetch the most money among Indian all-rounders. He can bowl at any stage of the game and can contribute with the bat in the middle overs. He is extremely valuable and won’t be surprising if LSG decides to use their RTM card to regain him. Pandya is also in very good form as of late, which will only increase his chance of bagging a good deal.

1. Marcus Stoinis

Marcus Stoinis can open the batting, play as a finisher, and clock at 140 kmph. He is a proven all-rounder, who can be extremely dangerous in all kinds of conditions as once the Australia international is in the zone, it is difficult to stop him. In 2024, he smashed 388 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 147.52 and also clinched four wickets. He will be an asset to any team.
