IPL 2024: Everything you need to know
The highly anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to kick off this week as the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are geared up to start their journey to defend their title against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opening match at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released a partial schedule, with 21 matches scheduled from March 22 to April 7, courtesy of the Loksabha Election 2024. The grand finale of IPL 2024 is set for May 26, just ahead of the ICC World T20 2024 in the United States and the Caribbean.
The season opener of IPL 2024 will kick off at 8 pm IST, with subsequent matches starting at 7:30 PM. On double-header days, the day match will commence at 3:30 PM.
The inaugural match will witness CSK playing at home in Chennai, promising an electrifying atmosphere. Following this, Punjab Kings (PBKS) will face Delhi Capitals (DC) in Mohali, and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Kolkata on March 23.
