IND vs AUS: 4th T20I Preview – India aim to tone down hungry Kangaroos
Having made a remarkable comeback in the series by winning the third T20I by five wickets, Australia will look to continue their winning momentum as they take on India in the fourth match on Friday, December 01 at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur. Riding on Maxwell’s knock of 104* in the third T20I, Australia made full use of the inexperienced Indian bowling. The Kangaroos chased down their second-highest total in T20I history of 223.
The Indian camp will be gutted after losing the last game as they failed to defend 43 off 12 balls. However, being 2-1 ahead in the series, they are just one win away from completing a hat trick of T20I series wins against Australia. Hence, the Suryakumar Yadav-led side will be eager to put the previous loss behind them and throw a heavy punch in reply at the Aussies in Raipur.
Pitch Report
Notably, there hasn’t been a single T20I played at the Raipur with the upcoming fixture being the first one. However, the venue hosted an ODI between India and New Zealand in January this year. Batting first New Zealand got bundled out for 108 and India comfortably chased down the target in that match.
However, a good batting surface is expected to greet both sides in the upcoming fixture with loads of runs. As far as the bowling is concerned, the bowlers may find difficulties in the second innings with the dew factor. Hence, the captain will likely to bowl first and take advantage of the wet conditions in the second half.
