IND vs AFG: 2nd T20I Preview – India adds Kohli firepower as they eye series win
Having won the first T20I by six wickets, team India will look to seal the series as they take on Afghanistan in the second game of the three-match series on Sunday, January 14 at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore.
The Men in Blue registered a comfortable win in the series-opening game. India first restricted Afghanistan to 158/5 and later chased down the target in 17.3 overs, riding on a magnificent knock by Shivam Dube (60* off 40).
India will be bolstered by Kohli’s return, who will be making a return to the T20I side after 14 months. It will be interesting to see whom will the team management drop to bring Kohli into the playing XI.
On the other hand, most of the batters from Afghanistan got off to a start but failed to convert it into big scores in Mohali. Mohammad Nabi used his experience and scored a brilliant 42 off 27 balls, smashing two fours and three sixes. With the ball, Mujeeb Ur Rahman bowled a brilliant spell of 2/21 in four overs.
With their back against the wall, Afghanistan will look to script a comeback. Hence, winning their first-ever T20I against India and leveling the series 1-1.
