I’m happy with the 55 Lakhs I get in KKR: Rinku Singh

Rinku Singh became a household name after he smashed Yash Dayal for five consecutive sixes to win the game for Kolkata Knight Riders. The Southpaw became synonymous with fearlessness and hard-hitting and continued the same months after being picked for the Indian team. In a gesture toward his allegiance to KKR, the youngster has shown contentment with the money he gets irrespective of what he earns.

Rinku became the go-to man for KKR down the order and the 26-year-old is mostly seen as someone who could finish the game for the team. He even donated 50 Lakh rupees to build a sports hostel for underprivileged cricketers. He was asked about his IPL salary, which is lesser than some other key players, and the cricketer replied that he is satisfied with a 55 Lakh contract.

“I’m happy with the 55 Lakhs I get in KKR. It’s a lot of money,” said Rinku as quoted by The Cricket Lounge.

Rinku Singh is living ‘God’s plan’ of every average Indian boy

Besides IPL salary, Rinku holds the C Grade contract with the Indian team and BCCI provides him with 1 crore per annum as salary. Moreover, the Uttar Pradesh batter is one of the few Indian cricketers to become the brand ambassador of Boost, a health drink. He is also the brand ambassador of the online gaming platform, My11Circle. His brand sponsorship includes the giants like SG, MRF, and CEAT.

The hard-hitter once said that the IPL salary would do good to him any day as coming from a small town in Aligarh, to get 5 to 10 rupees was a big task. Thanks to his association with a big IPL franchise and eventually the Indian cricket team, the cricketer bought a 200-yard plot in the area of Ozon City, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. He also bought a 100-acre land in the same area.
