ICC proposes minimum three-match Test series and more D/N matches in WTC

The ICC has recently proposed significant changes aimed at enhancing international cricket. A major suggestion is mandating a minimum of three-Test series for the World Test Championship (WTC) to ensure more robust competition and provide fairer opportunities for teams across the tournament cycle. This move would bring greater consistency in the Test format and prevent one-sided series.

Additionally, the ICC is encouraging more day-night Tests, which are seen as a way to attract larger audiences by making the game more accessible for fans who can’t watch during traditional hours. The introduction of pink-ball Tests has already drawn attention, and the ICC aims to build on this trend.

In One-Day Internationals (ODIs), the ICC has proposed the use of two new balls for the first 25 overs, aiming to maintain the balance between bat and ball. This could address concerns about the ball losing its shape or condition, which has been a topic of debate among players and experts.
