Before he became a household name with his Test exploits recently, Yashasvi Jaiswal played statement innings during IPL 2023 that led to his national call-up. He scored 625 runs in IPL 2023; in the process, he also scored the fastest half-century (13 balls) in IPL history against Kolkata Knight Riders. He scored a century (124) against Mumbai Indians as well.
4. Virat Kohli – 639 runs
Though he was going through a lean patch, Virat Kohli was among the runs in IPL 2023. The right-handed batter scored 639 runs as he also broke the record for most centuries in IPL. He also became the only player to surpass the landmark of 7000 T20 runs in IPL. He averaged 53.25 in the last season and boasted a strike rate of 139.82.
3. Devon Conway – 672 runs
Devon Conway played a major role in Chennai Super King’s championship title win in 2023. He consistently provided the early start for the team. Conway amassed 672 runs and boasted a strike rate of 139.70. He had a fabulous average of 51.69. His year was marked by six half-centuries and a brilliant knock of unbeaten 92.
2. Faf Du Plessis – 730 runs
RCB’s captain Faf Du Plessis was on song in IPL 2023. He outshined even Virat Kohli with his timely knocks and consistency. Though RCB failed to qualify for the playoffs, Du Plessis entertained the spectators enough. He scored 730 runs at a splendid strike rate of 153.68. He averaged 56.15 and his year was adorned with 8 half centuries.

Shubman Gill was in contention of breaking the highest aggregator in IPL record of 973 held by Virat Kohli. But he fell short of it at the far end of the league. He looked in great touch as he amassed 890 runs in 2023. He became the youngest player to receive the Orange Cap. He had an impressive strike rate of 157.80 and averaged 59.33. He smashed three centuries (which was the most in a season) and four half-centuries.
