3) 57 – James Faulkner vs India in 2013
The third-fastest ODI century scored by an Australian player was back in 2013 when the Men in Yellow took on India in Bangalore. Faulkner was the batter who scored the third-fastest ODI century by an Australia batter, completing the ton in just 57 deliveries. Faulkner finished his knock at a score of 116 runs in 73 deliveries but eventually, India won the game by 57 runs.
2) 51 – Glenn Maxwell vs Sri Lanka in 2015
The second-fastest ODI century by an Australian cricketer came from Glenn Maxwell in 2015 when Australia took on Sri Lanka in the 32nd game of the ODI World Cup 2023. Australia came in to bat first and put in a magnificent showing with the bat. Maxwell was the highest run-getter for his side, completing his century in just 51 deliveries before finishing 102 off 53. Australia posted 376 and eventually won by 64 runs.
1) 40 – Glenn Maxwell vs Netherlands in 2023
The fastest ODI century by an Australian was also scored by Glenn Maxwell. The ace all-rounder achieved the feat against Netherlands in the 24th game of the ODI World Cup 2023. Batting first, Australia showcased their class with the bat and in a display of mammoth stroke-making, Maxwell completed his century in just 40 deliveries, eventually amassing 106 off 44, helping the Men in Yellow to a total of 399 runs in the first innings.
