Dinesh Karthik picks his all-time India XI across formats
Former Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik recently selected his all-time Indian playing XI across formats. Karthik cautiously made a dream team that consists of rich talents India has produced over the years. He created an all-format XI that is balanced and capable of dominating in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is alike.
Karthik’s XI picked the explosive opening duo of Virender Sehwag and Rohit Sharma. Sehwag’s aggressive style, complemented by Rohit’s recent form, including his stellar performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup, will provide the team a blistering start.
The middle-order features the deadly trio of Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, and Virat Kohli. Dravid’s patience, Tendulkar’s skilfulness, and Kohli’s modern-day brilliance form the backbone of this batting lineup. With a combined tally of over 200 international centuries between them, the middle order is arguably the strongest ever assembled.
Dinesh Karthik includes two spinners in his all-time XI
The all-rounder slots are filled by Yuvraj Singh and Ravindra Jadeja, both game-changers in their own right. Yuvraj’s crucial role in India’s both ODI and T20I World Cup victories and Jadeja’s consistent performances across formats make them valuable additions to the team.
The bowling attack is led by ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who has been in unbelievable form, especially in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Partnering with him is the experienced Zaheer Khan, known for his ability to swing the ball both ways and give the side a left-hand option with the bowl.
The spin department consists of the legendary duo of Anil Kumble and Ravichandran Ashwin, with Harbhajan Singh as the 12th man, ensuring a potent mix of experience and skill.
