BCCI announces women’s ODI & T20I squads for Australia series
After recording a historic win against Australia women in the only Test, Harmanpreet Kaur-led India will shift their focus onto their white-ball assignments. After the only Test against Australia, India will face the Aussies in three ODIs, which will be followed by three T20Is.
The first ODI will be played on Thursday, December 28, whereas the first T20I is scheduled for Friday, January 5. Ahead of the white-ball series, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) came forward to announce India’s squads for both series against Australia.
Both sides will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur, with Smriti Mandhana fulfilling her role as the vice-captain. Furthermore, the side will feature the likes of Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana, and many more stars.
India look to repeat Test match heroics in white-ball series
Ahead of the ODI and T20I series, Team India will be brimming with confidence as they come into the clash on the back of a brilliant win in the recently concluded one-off Test against Australia.
The hosts dominated Alyssa Healy-led Australia throughout the match and managed to win the game by eight wickets, and they will hope that they can put in similar performances in the ODI and T20I series as well. It is also interesting to note that the three-match ODI series will be played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, whereas the T20I series will be played at the D Y Patil Sports Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
