BCCI announce India’s T20I squad for South Africa tour

India’s T20I squad for the South Africa series in November sees new additions and adjustments due to injuries among key players. The team will be led by Suryakumar Yadav, who continues his leadership role following recent international successes. Alongside him, versatile players such as all-rounder Abhishek Sharma and wicketkeeper Sanju Samson aim to bolster India’s lineup. Notably, Hardik Pandya, a seasoned T20I performer, returns to add balance to the side with his skill in batting and bowling, complementing India’s strategic depth.

New selections bring fresh energy to the team, with uncapped players Ramandeep Singh and Vijaykumar Vyshak debuting after strong domestic and IPL performances. Ramandeep, known for his dynamic fielding and batting prowess, and Vyshak, a promising Karnataka pacer, will make their T20I debut in this four-match series. Other bowlers include spin specialists Varun Chakaravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi, with pacers like Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh adding variety and experience. Injuries have sidelined promising players like Mayank Yadav, who impressed during his recent debut, and all-rounder Riyan Parag, recovering from a shoulder issue.

The tour schedule features matches at Durban, Gqeberha, Centurion, and Johannesburg, beginning November 8. With South Africa’s challenging home conditions, India’s refreshed squad will aim to build momentum and assess newer players as they progress in this international series.
