Anushka Sharma pens down heartfelt note for Kohli after his masterclass vs NZ
India continued their winning juggernaut in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. They beat New Zealand by four wickets on Sunday, October 22 at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala. After being put to bat first, Daryl Mitchell’s ton guided New Zealand to 273 in their allotted 50 overs.
In reply, India chased down the target in 48 overs courtesy of another Virat Kohli masterclass who scored 95 (104) to help India register their fifth consecutive game in the ongoing World Cup. While Kohli’s innings was praised by pundits all over the world, the chase master also got special praise from his wife and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma.
Anushka took to Instagram to share clips of Kohli’s innings on her story and wrote, “Always Proud of You,” and “Storm Chaser”.

Kohli, unfortunately, missed out on his second consecutive hundred in the tournament. He got dismissed while trying to achieve the milestone with a big heave over deep mid-wicket. However, he was caught by Glenn Phillips in the deep leaving India just five runs away from the victory.
Kohli becomes leading run-scorer in ODI World Cup 2023
The 34-year-old also climbed to the top of the leading run scorer’s list in the tournament during his knock. He now has 354 runs from five matches at an average of 118 and a strike rate of 90.53. Kohli till now has one hundred and three fifties to his name in the ongoing World Cup.
Meanwhile, following their win, India also climbed to the top of the points table with ten points from five matches. They will next face England on Sunday, October 29 at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
