Netherlands cricketer reveals he is working as a delivery boy
ICC T20 World Cup 2020 was scheduled to happen from October to November in 2020 but COVID-19 changed the entire scenario. The whole world came to a standstill due to the pandemic. Many sports events got cancelled or postponed and it was unprecedented for many die-hard fans. Eventually, ICC also took a harsh decision of postponing the 2020 T20 World Cup to the year 2022 in Australia.
In the previously launched scheduled for T20 World Cup 2020, Melbourne Cricket Ground was set to host the final of the tournament on November 15, 2020. Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Ireland, Scotland, Namibia, and Oman were the six additional teams qualified for T20 World Cup 2020. They were set to take on Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the initial group stage, in a bid to qualify for the Super 12 stage, where big teams will be waiting.
With the T20 event getting postponed, one of the Netherlands players Paul van Meekeren revealed that he is working as a delivery boy for Uber eats for his daily needs. He disclosed the same in an ICC tweet that was posted for recalling the original date of the T20 WC 2020 Final date.
Meekeren posted the following tweet –
