Netherlands announces their World Cup squad

The Netherlands have locked in their 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Cricket Wold Cup 2023. Roelof van der Merwe and Colin Ackermann, the experienced duo, have been recalled in Netherlands’ team. Interestingly, they were not a part of the squad that secured Netherlands’ World Cup spot earlier this year.

Scott Edwards will lead the squad as the Dutch are determined to replicate their impressive performance from the recently played qualifiers in Zimbabwe. Notably, they managed to secure their spot in the World Cup ahead of the West Indies.

Meanwhile, Van der Merwe and Ackermann, who excelled in the T20 World Cup last year, are expected to continue their stellar form in the upcoming 50-over World Cup. Their experience and skills make them valuable assets for the team.

The spotlight will also be on star opener Max O’Dowd and all-rounder Bas de Leede. Further, WK-Batter Noah Croes and pace bowler Kyle Klein will be their two travelling reserves in the squad. For preparations, the team has scheduled three practice matches against Karnataka. Netherlands will also play their warm-up fixtures against Australia and India on September 30 and October 3, respectively.

Netherlands’ World Cup journey begins with a match against Pakistan in Hyderabad on October 6. The team’s recent successes have raised expectations, and fans eagerly await their performance on the global stage.
