Net worth of New Zealand’s legend in making: Kane Williamson
Born on 8th August 1990 in Tauranga, a harbourside city in the Bay of Plenty region on New Zealand’s North Island, Kane Williamson has come a long way on the road of success through sheer will and devotion towards his art.
Williamson made his first-class cricket debut in December 2007 and made his U19 debut against India the same year, where he was named captain of the New Zealand U-19 team ahead of the 2008 U19 Cricket World Cup.
Having made his international debut in 2010, Williamson shot to prominence immediately with a century on debut against India in Ahmedabad in 2004. He has represented New Zealand at 2011, 2015 and 2019 editions of the ICC ODI World Cup and 2012, 2014 and 2016 editions of the ICC World Twenty20.

Williamson made his full-time captaincy debut for New Zealand in the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 in India and led the national team in the 2019 Cricket World Cup finals, which New Zealand heartbreakingly lost to England. However, Williamson ended up bagging the Player of the Tournament award. For his performances over the years, he has won the Sir Richard Hadlee Medal a record four times and was also awarded the T20 Player of the Year by NZC for the 2016-17 season.
In 2015, Sunrisers Hyderabad of the IPL signed Williamson for US$96,500 and he was a part of the team that lifted the title in 2016. He was retained by SRH in 2018 for a sum of US$460,500 and led the team into the IPL Finals in the same season in the regular skipper David Warner’s absence.
A centrally contracted New Zealand player and a regular feature in the IPL, Williamson’s net worth is estimated to be around $ 9 million (INR 66 Crore), which includes his IPL salary of INR 3 Crore. He is provided $85,000 (INR 63 Lakh) by the New Zealand Cricket Board as an annual salary for representing the country in all three formats of the game, and he gets a further $40,000 (₹28 lakh) as a special bonus for being the captain of the national team.
Having represented his nation in 83 Tests, 151 ODIs and 67 T20Is, Williamson has 7128, 6173 and 1805 runs in the three formats respectively. He has 24 Test centuries to his name, the most for any NZ player, while his tally of 7128 is only behind Ross Taylor’s 7393 in terms of most runs by a Kiwi player in Tests.
