MS Dhoni pays visit to Dewri temple in Ranchi ahead of IPL 2021
MS Dhoni is considered no less than a demigod in India. His popularity has no match and it is no secret that fans can go to any extent to get a glimpse of their favourite cricketer. A similar incident happened in Dhoni’s hometown in Ranchi. The veteran cricketer often visits Dewri Temple in the city to seek the blessings of God.
He continued this tradition this year too as he paid a visit to the holy place with his childhood friend Simat Lohani aka Chittu. Heavy security was deployed in the area to facilitate Dhoni’s visit. Hundreds of fans assembled outside the area to catch a glimpse of the cricketing superstar.
The Ranchi Stalwart acknowledged the presence and love of his fans as a few lucky ones got a chance to click selfies with the cricketer and take his autograph.

MS Dhoni to feature in IPL 2021
MS Dhoni was last seen in action during the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) hosted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) across three venues namely Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. Both Dhoni and CSK had a poor run in IPL 2020 as they failed to live up to the expectations. The Super Kings had finished at the second-last spot on the points table having won just 6 games out of 14 played.
Dhoni, on the other hand, could muster a paltry 200 runs in 12 IPL matches at an average of 25 and a poor strike rate of 116.27. It was speculated that Dhoni might play in two domestic tournaments namely Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 and Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021 to regain his form and maintain his fitness. However, the wicketkeeper opted out of playing for Jharkhand.
He will now feature in the 2021 edition of the T20 Championship for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is trying their level best to conduct the tournament in the country.
CSK is all set to make a comeback in IPL 2021 after a torrid run last year as they acquired English all-rounder Moeen Ali’s services during IPL Auction. Besides, Chennai also roped in Krishnappa Gowtham, Cheteshwar Pujara, M Harisankar Reddy, K Bhagath Varma, and C Hari Nishaanth.
