MS Dhoni celebrates 41st birthday with family in London
Legendary skipper MS Dhoni celebrated his 41st birthday on Thursday, July 7 as wishes poured in from all corners, including the members of the cricketing fraternity. Dhoni bid adieu to international cricket on August 15, 2020, but continues to be associated with the game by playing in the Indian Premier League.
As Dhoni turned a year older, he celebrated the occasion with family and friends in London. However, his birthday party also had a special guest in attendance as Rishabh Pant, who recently featured in the rescheduled fifth Test match against England, was also present.
In a video posted by Sakshi Dhoni on her official Instagram handle, the veteran stumper can be seen blowing the candles before cutting the cake.
The ‘Captain Cool’ is currently in London on a vacation. In fact, he was in attendance for the Wimbledon 2022 quarterfinal match between Rafael Nadal and Taylor Fritz. Dhoni was clicked in the crowd enjoying the match with three other people. The 2011 World Cup-winning skipper had worn a grey blazer and black shades. It was just a matter of time before MS Dhoni’s image among the star-studded London crowd went viral.
After leading the Chennai Super Kings to their fourth IPL crown last year, Dhoni stepped down as captain and handed over the reins to all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja in IPL 2022. Nonetheless, underwhelming performances by the then defending champions resulted in Dhoni’s re-appointment as captain.
CSK finished ninth in the points table, managing just four wins in the season and Dhoni has made it clear that he will be back to lead CSK next year and exuded confidence, saying that there is still some cricket left in him despite being in the twilight of his illustrious cricketing career as a player.
