Most wickets in T20Is in 2022

The year 2022 saw a few bowlers showcasing great consistency in T20Is and bagging wickets at regular intervals. These bowlers also achieved excellence in major tournaments like the Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup as they kept the best batters on their feet with their impactful spells. 3. Wanindu Hasaranga (34)

Sri Lanka leggie Wanindu Hasaranga finished with 34 scalps to his name at 15.67 and came to the fore in the middle and death overs to leave the batters shell-shocked. His best performance came in the Asia Cup final against Pakistan where he ran through them and recorded figures of 3/27 to hand the Lankans their sixth continental championship title.

2. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (37)

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been the most consistent bowler for India in T20Is this year. While he did have his issues while bowling at the death in 2022, the veteran pacer delivered for his team at crucial phases when it mattered the most.  The UP cricketer ended 2022 with 37 wickets i at 19.56 and notably, 21 of these scalps have come in the Powerplay overs.

1. Joshua Little (39)

Irish pacer Joshua Little has emerged as the highest wicket-taker in T20Is in 2022 and this year. He also scalped a hattrick this year, in Ireland’s T20 World Cup 2022 encounter against New Zealand when he accounted for the likes of skipper Kane Williamson, James Neesham and Mitchell Santner to finish with figures of 3/22. His stupendous performances in T20Is this year also earned him an IPL contract worth a staggering INR 4.4 crore with Gujarat Titans.
