Most runs in ODIs after 21 innings
Amassing massive runs during the professional career is something every batter relishes. While some players have the knack of hitting the ground running almost swiftly, some others have the tendency to take their own time and then get the big scores. In the piece, we take a look at the top three cricketers with most runs in the One-Day format after 21 innings:
3. 1089 – Fakhar Zaman
Pakistan batter Fakhar Zaman’s consistency of getting the big scores for his side has rewarded him with finding a place in the list of top run getters after 21 innings. The batter amassed 1089 runs falling short of the second place by a mere run to his compatriot Imam-ul-Haq.
2. 1090 – Imam-ul-Haq
The flamboyant left-hander surpassed Zaman as the second highest run-getter thus far with 1090 runs to his name in the ODIs. Imam established himself as a technical hitter of the ball and is particularly strong on the drive. Despite being unable to cement a place in the national team and lack of opportunities, the southpaw has made most from his outings and made a spot in the most runs tally in ODIs after 21 innings.
1. 1254 – Shubman Gill
Gill has been in sensational form for the Men in Blue and his performances have been reflecting well in the ongoing series against New Zealand. In his last five outings in the 50-over format, the swashbuckling batter has produced some remarkable innings, having scored 497 runs under his name. Adding to this, he has registered two centuries and one double century to his name in the five outings at a stunning average of 99.4.
Gill has been no stranger to creating history with his bat and due to his back-to-back sensational outings in the format, he could very well top the charts of the run-tally in the calendar year. The batter has already registered the most runs after 21 innings in ODI history. He is also the second-fastest to reach the 1000-run milestone, having achieved the feat in just 19 games alongside Pakistan’s Imam-ul-Haq.
