Most runs in death overs in T20Is

Hitting boundaries is one of the most prominent aspects of the 20-over format. Not every batter in the international arena has the potential to come at the crease and start striking from ball one. However, there are a few batters who have mastered this art and have done the bulk of scoring their team in the death overs. Here are three such batters who have scored the most runs in the last four overs in T20Is:

3. Shoaib Malik (745 runs)

Being ignored by the national selectors now, batter Shoaib Malik was one of the crucial members of the Pakistani batting line-up and has played many memorable knocks for the Men in Green. Malik is not known as a finisher as he came usually came to bat at number four or five positions, but once he gets set, the right-handed batter can do a lot of damage during the ending phase of an innings.

2. MS Dhoni (856 runs)

One of the best finishers the cricket fraternity has ever seen, former Indian skipper MS Dhoni comes second in the list after amassing a total of 856 runs in death overs. Even in the toughest situations, Dhoni always kept his calm and won the game for his side. Dhoni’s finishing skills can still be seen in the Indian Premier League (IPL) where he has thrashed several prominent bowlers in the international arena.

1. David Miller (876 runs)

South African batter David Miller surpassed Dhoni to score the highest runs in death overs in the recently-concluded T20I series against India. The left-handed batter has been in ominous touch as he scored a century during the T20I fixtures. Miller is expected to play a crucial role for his side in the upcoming 2022 T20 World Cup.
