3) 971 – Sachin Tendulkar
Legendary former Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar sits in third place in the list of batters with the most wickets in the Asia Cup. Tendulkar amassed 971 runs to his name throughout the course of his Asia Cup career. It is worth noting that Tendulkar played 23 games in the Asia Cup and notched up the runs at an average of 51.1.
2) 1075 – Kumar Sangakkara
Former Sri Lanka cricketer Kumar Sangakkara is yet another one of the highest run-getters of the ODI format Asia Cup. Having played 24 matches in the 50-over Asia Cup, Sangakkara scored 1075 at an average of 48.86 runs. Sangakkara was undoubtedly one of the most influential batters of his generation.
1) 1220 – Sanath Jayasuriya
Arguably one of the greatest batters of all time, Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jayasuriya has the record for the most runs scored in the ODI Asia Cup. Playing 25 matches, Jayasuriya scored a mammoth 1220 runs at an average of 53.04 runs and left a lasting impact on the tournament.
