3. Younis Khan | 8594 runs
Former Pakistan cricketer Younis Khan was a consistent performer in the longest format for his national side during his stint. In 176 innings, the former Pakistan skipper garnered 8594 runs, maintaining a solid average of 53.71. Having played 118 Tests, Younis concluded with 10099 runs, getting 34 centuries and 33 fifties for Pakistan.
2. Brian Lara | 8833 runs
A legend of the sport, Brian Lara got a massive number of runs with ease for the West Indies. His 400-run knock still remains the highest total by an individual in Test cricket. After having played 99 Test matches for the Windies, the legendary southpaw collected 8833 runs, making him the second-highest run-getter after 99 matches. With this, he also got 23 centuries at an average of 52.27 in 174 innings. Lara called time on his magnificent career after scoring 11953 runs which featured 34 hundreds and 48 fifties at an average of 52.88.

The flamboyant Aussie cricketer has already flourished into becoming one of the modern-day greats of the longest format. Smith is the only batter to have breached the 9000-run mark even before playing his 100th Test. The batter has collected 9113 runs after playing 99 Test matches and tops the charts in the elite list of cricketers. With 99 Tests played thus far, Smith has added 37 half-centuries and 32 tons at a stellar average of 59.56. His average is also the highest ever recorded for a player after 99 matches.
