Most international centuries amongst active players
Scoring a century in international cricket is a big achievement for a professional player. Sachin Tendulkar did that 100 times during his playing career and no one has reached near to that historic achievement. Indian star Virat Kohli recently scored his 71st international and remains the only current player to score 50-plus hundreds in international cricket. Also, he is the only active player to rank in the top ten of the most international centuries chart. Let’s take a look at the top-three active players with the most international centuries.
3. David Warner (Australia, 43)
The veteran Australian opener has scored 43 international centuries and is closing on 50-hundred mark. He has smashed 24 hundreds in Test, 18 in ODIs, and solitary in T20Is. He missed scoring two more in his last ten innings when he was caught out on 99 against Sri Lanka and 94 against Zimbabwe. Warner’s last century came against India in January 2020.
2. Joe Root (England, 44)
Root is in his form of life with five centuries in Tests this year, which helped him to reach the 10000 Test runs milestone as well. He has now 44 centuries in international cricket – 28 in Test and 16 in ODIs. He is also leading the most Test centuries by any active players and with his recent form, one can expect him reaching 50-ton mark soon. His latest century came against India, an unbeaten 142 runs off just 173 balls to guide England a record chase win at Edgbaston in Birmingham on the rescheduled Test.
1. Virat Kohli (India, 71)
The former Indian captain remains one of the most consistent run-scorers despite not scoring a hundred for 1020 days. His recent 71st hundred ended that frustrating run and he is now on the course for more. He has managed to score 27 centuries in Test cricket, 43 in ODIs and one T20I. Kohli, 33, is in great shape and his recent form has been really promising as well.
