Most ducks in Test cricket
All the players play to score loads of runs or take wickets to create and break prominent records. However, there are some records that players want to avoid but end up naming themselves anyway. Scoring a duck is one of the most embarrassing moments for any batter. On that note here are three players with the most ducks in Test cricket.
3. Chris Martin (36 ducks)
New Zealand pacer Chris Martin comes third in the list after having a total of 36 ducks in Test cricket. Talking about his numbers in Test cricket, the right-arm pacer took233 wickets in 71 matches. He scored 123 runs in 104 innings. Martin’s highest score was 12 runs and he average a little above two runs. The Kiwi pacer played his last Test match in 2013.
2. Stuart Broad (39 ducks)
England’s veteran pacer Stuart Broad comes second on the list after having a total of 39 ducks. Despite having a whopping number of ducks to his name, Broad is quite handy with the bat. He has scored more than 3544 runs at an average liittle above 18. He has also stroked a century and his highest score is 169 runs.
1. Courtney Walsh (43 ducks)
West Indies express pacer Courtney Walsh comes first in this list after having a total of 43 ducks in. Talking about his numbers in bowling first, Walsh took 519 Test wickets and has bowled more than 5000 overs in Test cricket. With the bat, he scored 936 runs in 185 innings at an average just a shade above seven runs. In ODI’s, Walsh amassed 321 runs in 209 matches. The unwanted record aside, Walsh was one of the best of his time and is to date considered one of the greatest pacers to ever play for West Indies.
