Most centuries by an Indian batter in ODI run chases
In cricket, it can be difficult to reach massive targets in any of the three formats. The batters need to be able to put the opposition under pressure when the target is big, be it on an easy or a difficult pitch, especially in the ODI format, where it is an uphill task for the batters to score a ton with a big target in front of them. On that note, let us have a look at the Indian batters who have scored the most number of centuries while chasing in ODIs:
3. Rohit Sharma- 14 centuries
The current Indian all-format skipper Rohit Sharma is one of the finest openers that the Indian team has come across. The 25-year-old has played 233 ODI matches (226 innings) for India and has amassed 9376 runs at an average of 48.58. Of the total 29 ODI centuries under his belt, 14 have come while chasing.
2. Sachin Tendulkar- 17 centuries
The Indian batting legend achieved many laurels during his time on the field and led India to many thrilling victories. Sachin Tendulkar has 18426 runs from 463 ODI matches (452 innings) and of his 49 ODI centuries, of which 17 came while chasing.
1. Virat Kohli- 26 centuries
