Mohammad Amir announces an indefinite break from international cricket
Pakistan’s ace pacer Mohammad Amir has decided to take an indefinite break from international cricket. The 28-year old has cleared that he has reservations with current management and is visibly hurt after being dropped from the team for the New Zealand T20Is. He has made some serious allegations on the current management of the Pakistan team while stating that he is being mentally tortured as well.
Amir recently participated in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) which concluded on Wednesday. He bowled exceptionally well in the tournament while featuring for the Galle Gladiators in the tournament who ended as the runners-up after losing the final to Jaffna Stallions.
Speaking about his break from the sport, the fast bowler revealed that he has been tortured a lot in his career and he will not be able to handle it any more. “Right now I am leaving cricket. I am being mentally tortured. I don’t think, I will be able to handle this kind of torture because I have been tortured a lot from 2010 to 2015,” he said in a video released by Khel Shel.

Amir alleged that he was being mentally tortured time and again after retiring from Test format last year. He also slammed at the bowling coach Waqar Younis who said that the pace bowler ditched the team ahead of the Australia tour and was one of the reasons for the team’s loss Down Under. Rather Amir stated that he wanted to give his 100% for Pakistan in white-ball cricket.
Amir, in the end, also cleared that once he reaches Pakistan, after talking to his family, he will release an official statement regarding the matter.
“I will reach Pakistan within two days and meet my family. I will then release a proper statement telling the actual reason for my decision,” Amir concluded.
